Retro (derives from the Latin prefix retro, meaning “backwards, or in past times) style has been popular for the past 3-5 years and who knows how long it will last – maybe until today will be considered retro in 15-20 years?

During these days what retro stands for is the fashion, accessories, furniture, music (and many more) of the 1980-90’s. Retro started as some sort of a jest of the style of those times, reflecting something that is completely out of fashion today.

But for some reason it ended up raising popularity of retro, rather it has been kept alive or made even more popular. Why is this?

I believe that this is because generally people still like to remember those days when getting dressed that way, listening to that music (needless to mention that these were the boom years of modern Hi-NRG music), going to the very typical disco clubs and just doing those things… It was simply a highly remarkable FEELING those days that people –being young then- like to relive. Let’s not forget that in the 1980-90’s the speed of life was slower, I could say more pleasant in some aspects, without cell-phones and the Internet, without being in reach of everything 7/24. For the younger generations it is a trend that is brought back from time to time – mostly in fashion, but reflecting the feeling that is behind retro. So let’s keep retro style alive in all means!
